With HomeGuard, NorDan has selected timber based elements for maximum security, performance, and sustainability. Our aim, without compromise, is to produce products that are both secure and high weather performing all whilst being thermally efficient and environmentally sound through low carbon materials.

The Construction

Our HomeGuard entrance door has all the aspects of NorDan’s previous well established composite doorsets. Attributes to resist forced entry, a desirable Scandinavian aesthetic and weather performance certification to prove our doorset can perform in the most extreme conditions, across all areas of Ireland.

Glazing Options

Matelux Glass

Matelux is a premium acid-etched float glass featuring a uniform, high-quality satin finish. It softly filters incoming natural light, offering up to 90% light transmission, while blurring images to provide a neutral, translucent appearance that ensures privacy. It is an ideal obscuration option for bathrooms, entrance doors, and partitions where you want to maximize daylight without compromising on seclusion.

Emissions

Matelux allows for the application of low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings on the inner and outer panes to maintain energy efficiency.

Strength & durability

The glass offers high resistance to stains, scratches, and fingerprints. It can also be heat-strengthened, toughened, or laminated to meet rigorous safety and security standards,

Thermal performance

Matelux can be seamlessly integrated into NorDan’s energy-efficient double and triple-glazed units.

Surface & protection

The unique industrial acid-etching process creates a smooth, continuous surface that is easy to clean and maintain.

Cotswold Glass

Cotswold is a highly textured, decorative patterned glass that features a distinctive vertical, bark-like design. It provides a high level of obscuration for maximum privacy while still permitting excellent natural light transmission, making it an ideal glazing option for bathrooms, entrance doors, and side panels.

Emissions

Cotswold glass can be specified with low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings to drastically improve a building's energy efficiency.

Strength & durability

Depending on security and safety requirements, this patterned glass can be supplied as toughened glass (which is 4 to 6 times stronger than standard glass of the same thickness) or as laminated safety glass.

Thermal performance

This obscure glass can be built directly into NorDan's advanced double or triple-glazed units.

Surface & protection

The durable textured surface of the glass requires minimal upkeep. When paired with NorDan’s Alu-Clad window systems, the exterior frame is additionally protected by a premium powder-coated aluminium finish, providing a robust, cellular surface structure that easily withstands tough marine environments and prevents filiform corrosion.

Clear Glass

Clear Glass is the standard, highly transparent float glass used in the majority of residential and commercial window installations. It offers maximum visible light transmission and pristine, undistorted views of the outside, making it the perfect choice for living rooms, bedrooms, and any area where maximizing natural daylight and solar gain is the primary goal.

Depending on specific building regulations and location requirements, clear glass can be supplied as toughened safety glass or laminated security glass.

Stippolyte Glass

Stippolyte is a classic, finely textured patterned glass that offers a high level of obscuration (typically rated as a privacy level 4). It features a subtle, stippled surface that brilliantly diffuses incoming light, providing excellent privacy without sacrificing natural daylight. Its timeless, neutral appearance makes it an incredibly popular choice for bathrooms, entrance doors, and lower-level windows where discretion is essential.

Strength & durability

To comply with strict safety and security building regulations, Stippolyte can be manufactured as toughened safety glass or laminated glass.

This obscure glass integrates seamlessly into NorDan's standard double and ultra-efficient triple-glazed units.

Surface & protection

The finely dimpled surface of Stippolyte is inherently durable and effectively masks everyday smudges or water spots, making it easy to maintain.
